Job Title: Product Costing Manager
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Product Costing Manager to lead our efforts in reducing the cost of our products throughout their lifecycle. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the overall product cost optimization strategy, managing a team of specialists, and collaborating with function heads across various departments to drive significant cost savings while maintaining or improving product quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cost Reduction Strategy Development: Define, develop and implement innovative product cost reduction strategies and initiatives, considering various approaches such as design changes, material substitutions, manufacturing process improvements, and supply chain optimization aligned with company goals and financial targets. Identify long-term cost reduction opportunities and prioritize initiatives.
• Advanced Cost Analysis and Modeling: Provide guidance and carry out complex cost analysis and modeling. Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of cost models and forecasts. Identify key cost drivers and areas for potential optimization.
• Value Engineering (VE) / Value Analysis (VA): Lead Value Engineering/Value Analysis workshops to identify unnecessary costs without sacrificing functionality, quality, or reliability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between the Product Costing Team and other departments, including Engineering Solutions, Commercial Planning, Procurement and Manufacturing entities. Drive cross-functional collaboration and gain buy-in for cost reduction initiatives.
• Supplier Relationship Management (Strategic): Work with Procurement team to develop strategic supplier relationships focused on cost optimization opportunities. Drive and explore innovative sourcing strategies focused on product cost optimization.
• Performance Reporting and Communication: Develop implementation plans for approved cost reduction initiatives Develop and present comprehensive reports on product cost performance, cost reduction achievements, and future opportunities to senior management. Communicate the value and impact of the team's work.
• Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Costing Specialists. Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Risk Management: Assess and mitigate strategic risks associated with cost reduction initiatives, considering long-term impact on product viability and supply chain resilience.

• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve the processes and methodologies used for product cost optimization. Implement best practices and leverage new technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.),
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in product cost analysis, cost engineering, value engineering, or a related field within a manufacturing environment, preferably in Defense & Aerospace Industry, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies at an organizational level.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing complex cost reduction initiatives with significant financial impact.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, supply chain dynamics, and financial principles related to product cost.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
