External Job Description

We are seeking a Mid-Level Full Stack Developer to take ownership of ZENITH, our geospatial imagery and intelligence platform. Originally built by external suppliers, ZENITH now requires an in‑house developer to maintain the system, deliver new features, optimize performance, and ensure seamless integration with satellite data providers. You will bridge the supplier’s architecture with evolving internal mission requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Maintenance & Refactoring: Improve code quality, maintainability, and performance as user load grows.
  • Feature Development: Convert new Figma designs into functional features using React.js and Mapbox visualization layers.
  • Backend & API Management: Maintain and enhance Python/FastAPI services, ensuring stable async processes and optimized Pydantic schemas.
  • Supplier Integration: Build and maintain API bridges using webhooks and polling to ensure continuous updates from satellite data suppliers.
  • Database Optimization: Manage PostgreSQL/PostGIS, ensuring efficient spatial queries and adherence to STAC metadata standards.
  • Cloud Operations: Deploy and maintain containerized microservices in Kubernetes using Docker.
  • Security & Identity: Maintain strong security posture through penetration testing and managing OIDC/OAuth2 flows via Keycloak.

Technical Requirements

  • Backend: 4+ years with Python and FastAPI; strong async programming and Pydantic expertise.
  • Frontend: Proficiency in React.js (Hooks, state management) and geospatial libraries such as Mapbox.
  • Database: Experience with PostgreSQL and spatial optimization using PostGIS.
  • DevOps/Cloud: Hands-on experience with Docker and deploying microservices in AKS.
  • Security: Strong understanding of OIDC/OAuth2 and Keycloak integration.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of STAC for imagery metadata management.
  • Experience troubleshooting and improving third‑party API integrations.
  • Ability to translate Figma designs into consistent, production-ready UI components.
