Senior Project Manager

Role Summary

The Project Manager leads the development, implementation, operations, and continuous evolution of the ZENITH platform that supports satellite tasking, multi‑mission coordination, and end‑to‑end data lifecycle management. The role requires managing a hybrid delivery model, balancing work performed by development partners with growing internal capabilities, while ensuring the platform remains robust, scalable, and aligned with mission, operational, and business objectives.

Core Responsibilities

• Implement and support the roadmap and execution of platform development across both internal teams and development partners.
• Define and manage delivery scopes, milestones, and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer to internal teams to support long‑term autonomy and maintainability.
• Coordinate internal engineering, data, and operations teams to take ownership of incremental enhancements and new features.

• Oversee the design and evolution of mission‑orchestration functions, including tasking workflows, scheduling engines, resource allocation logic, and mission‑specific configurations.
• Facilitate the collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operational readiness.
• Establish operational processes and SLA frameworks.

• Ensure compliance with EDGE and end user requirements.
• Manage configuration control, release management, and operational documentation.
• Maintain a forward‑looking roadmap for platform enhancements, including new missions, new data types, and advanced orchestration features.

• Identify opportunities to internalize development work, build internal technical capability, and reduce dependency on external vendors.
• Lead user‑feedback cycles and ensure the platform evolves to meet emerging mission and stakeholder needs.

• Serve as the primary interface between internal leadership, mission teams, and development partners.
• Manage contracts, performance reviews, and delivery governance with partners.
• Prepare progress reports, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
• Oversee budgets, procurement, resource planning, and cross‑team alignment.

Required Qualifications

• Experience managing complex software engineering projects.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, data engineering, DevOps, and distributed system architectures.
• Knowledge of space/remote‑sensing technologies and geospatial standards is preferred.
• Understanding of satellite tasking, mission operations, scheduling systems, and ground‑segment workflows is preferred.

• Exposure to government, defense, or national‑level digital infrastructure programs.
• Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, or cloud certifications is preferred.
