Job Summary:
The Project Finance Specialist supports EDGE Commercial project finance activities by strengthening financial governance, control frameworks, and financial discipline across the project portfolio.
The role provides financial support to project finance operations by monitoring project financial data, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring alignment between project execution, financial controls, and internal policies. It works closely with Project Finance, Commercial Finance, and project teams to ensure financial information is accurate, traceable, and compliant with governance standards.
The position contributes to maintaining audit readiness, improving financial transparency across projects, and supporting scalable financial governance as the project portfolio grows in complexity.
Key Accountabilities:
- Design and enforce project financial control checkpoints across the project lifecycle
- Ensure financial structure integrity and cost traceability across project activities (SAP Project Systems – WBS)
- Assist in monitoring project budgets and forecasts to ensure alignment with project financial plans
- Monitor project expenditures and financial data to ensure consistency with approved budgets and forecasts
- Perform financial analysis and variance analysis to identify deviations from financial expectations
- Compile financial data and support the preparation of project financial reports and documentation
- Collaborate with project teams to gather financial information and provide financial insights related to project performance
- Support alignment across EDGE entities when projects involve multi-entity execution or financial coordination
- Establish and monitor compliance standards and ensure audit-ready documentation across projects
- Standardize financial governance processes across projects and entities
- Proactively identify financial risks, control weaknesses, and deviations from financial policies
- Act as governance interface for Project Finance, partner teams, and internal and external audit functions
- Support continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting practices, and documentation standards
Experience & Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Solid accounting knowledge and understanding of financial reporting principles is required
- 4+ years of experience in project finance, financial analysis, project control, or similar roles in project-based environments
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial monitoring of projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong familiarity with SAP (Project Systems module) is a significant advantage
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Commercial Finance, and Accounting
- Experience supporting financial audits, compliance reviews, or governance processes is desirable
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain structured financial documentation
