UAV Operator (UAEN)
Role Overview:
We are a UAV development company focused on designing, prototyping, and deploying next-generation tactical and ISR unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Reporting directly to the Chief UAV Test Pilot, the UAV Operators will play a critical role in the execution of complex operational missions, ensuring safety, precision, and reliability. Candidates must have a strong aviation background, demonstrated operational excellence, and the technical skills required to manage sophisticated UAV platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Flight Test Execution
- Conduct comprehensive UAV flight tests, ensuring adherence to test protocols, safety guidelines, and performance benchmarks.
- Execute pre-flight checks, flight test briefings, and post-flight analyses under the supervision of the Chief UAV Test Pilot.
- Operate diverse UAV platforms including fixed-wing, VTOL, and Drone-in-a-Box systems, focusing on validation and performance evaluation.
- Technical Proficiency and Maintenance
- Perform inspections and basic maintenance of UAV systems to ensure readiness for testing operations.
- Support troubleshooting and rapid issue resolution during flight testing.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and integration teams to quickly understand and operate evolving UAV technologies.
- Test Planning and Data Analysis
- Assist in developing detailed test plans, test cards, and operational test scenarios.
- Accurately record flight data and provide actionable feedback for UAV system optimization and performance enhancements.
- Safety and Compliance
- Strictly adhere to the company's safety standards, aviation regulations, and operational policies during testing operations.
- Participate in risk assessments and contribute actively to enhancing test safety protocols.
- Collaboration and Reporting
- Maintain clear and concise communication with the Chief UAV Test Pilot and multidisciplinary teams involved in rapid UAV development.
- Document test logs and generate detailed test reports to support continuous improvement initiatives and rapid development cycles.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of aviation experience; UAV experience;
- Strongly preferred - UAV experience.
OR
- RC modeling experience with fixed or rotary wing.
- General aviation experience - LSA or GA pilot with 100 hours and more.
- Proven experience executing detailed and rigorous flight test operations.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required.
- Strong approach for gaming / computer’s/simulators
- Demonstrated accountability, trustworthiness, and the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environments.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly assimilate and apply new technological concepts.
- Capable of performing hands-on technical tasks, including basic UAV maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Able to perform duties in challenging outdoor and varied climatic conditions.
- Advantage - Certification or relevant qualification from recognized aviation authorities (FAA/EASA/ICAO or equivalent) is preferred.
