About POWERTECH

POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.

About the Role

We are looking for an Additive Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and manufacture of advanced metal AM components within a technically demanding engineering environment. This role is designed for engineers who want to rapidly develop their understanding of metal additive manufacturing through hands-on involvement in real engineering programmes. You will work closely with senior engineers across design, manufacturing, post-processing, and process development activities. You do not need to know everything on day one, but you must be willing to learn quickly, take ownership of your work, and continuously improve your engineering capability.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare LPBF builds including orientation, support generation, slicing, and build setup
  • Support AM components through the full manufacturing route including post-processing, inspection, and technical issue resolution
  • Work with CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings
  • Support troubleshooting of manufacturing defects and build failures
  • Contribute to process development activities and workflow improvements
  • Coordinate with machining, inspection, and manufacturing teams
  • Maintain build records, reports, and engineering documentation

What We Are Looking For

Required

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field
  • Understanding of additive manufacturing fundamentals
  • CAD experience (NX, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a technically challenging environment
  • Ability to take feedback constructively and improve quickly

Preferred

  • Experience with LPBF metal additive manufacturing
  • Understanding of DfAM principles
  • Familiarity with build preparation software
  • Exposure to manufacturing, inspection, or post-processing workflows

What Success Looks Like

  • Produces reliable and well-structured engineering work
  • Learns quickly and applies feedback effectively
  • Takes ownership of assigned tasks
  • Develops increasing technical independence over time
  • Demonstrates curiosity and initiative when solving problems
  • Contributes positively to technical delivery across the team

Application Requirement

As part of your application, please include a short personal example (approximately 200–400 words) describing:

  • A technical or manufacturing issue you encountered related to additive manufacturing, engineering, or manufacturing in general
  • How you approached the problem
  • What actions you took
  • What you learned from the experience
