About POWERTECH

POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.

We are seeking a highly skilled Propulsion Fuel System Design Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and development of high-speed engine fuel systems, including high-pressure pumps, injectors, manifolds, and delivery lines. This role focuses on multi-fuel capabilities, high-energy-density fuels, and afterburner systems, emphasizing practical hardware design, high-pressure delivery, and thermal management for supersonic and hypersonic propulsion applications.  This role spans early-stage research (low-TRL) through TRL 7 demonstrators, providing the opportunity to work on advanced fuel architectures, engine integration, and digital control systems for current and future high-speed and adaptive-cycle engine concepts.

The successful candidate will combine hands-on engineering expertise, system-level thinking, and digital fuel control knowledge to deliver innovative fuel solutions that enhance engine performance, efficiency, reliability, and multi-fuel operability, supporting both today’s platforms and the propulsion technologies of tomorrow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead fuel pump development & high-pressure delivery system design for turbojet and turbofan engines.
  • Design and optimize injectors, manifolds, and fuel distribution systems for high-speed and afterburning operation.
  • Develop multi-fuel systems supporting Jet-A, SAF, synthetic fuels, hydrogen blends, and high-energy-density fuels.
  • Implement fuel system layouts for thermal management, regenerative cooling, and high-speed engine packaging.
  • Support rig and engine-level testing, validation, and TRL progression of fuel components and systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, combustion, and integration teams to deliver robust, flight-ready solutions.
  • Design and develop adaptive fuel delivery using predictive and ML-based controllers to optimize combustion and improve transient response.

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years in aero-engine fuel system or propulsion hardware design.
  • Experience with Multi-stage injector optimization, Hybrid injector combining pressure swirl and air assist and Fuel conditioning before injection.
  • Hands-on expertise in fuel system component sizing, pump sizing, high-pressure delivery, injectors, and manifolds.
  • Experience with high-speed and afterburner fuel systems.
  • Multi-fuel and high-energy-density fuel system experience.
  • Familiarity with 1D system modeling tools (AMESim, Flomaster), materials selection, and qualification testing.
