Job Description:

Performs all phases of architectural work including planning, designing and overseeing the construction of new buildings, extensions, alterations, and renovation projects for AL TAIF TECHNICAL SERVICES LLC.  Develop and review project planning documents for consistency with program scope and intent, and be responsible for long-range facilities planning and programming in support of all programs managed by AL TAIF.  Ensures the process is maintained within the latest ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standards.  Learns, understands and complies with applicable health, safety and environment directives. Participates in the development of a safe and healthy working environment.  Ensures compliance with all company policies, manuals, procedures and work instructions.

Experience and Education:

• Develop and manage the delivery of architectural and/or engineering services during project planning.
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of consultants and contractors in meeting contractual and technical requirements.
• Support the preparation of contract schedules for the completion of planning and programming services.
• Support in-house teams in the planning and development of new architectural and engineering projects, including the initial identification of project requirements, the preparation of Scopes of Work (SOW), the selection of architects and engineers, and the review and approval of completed studies.
• Review construction project proposals for technical soundness.
• Manage facilities planning and design in an environmentally responsible manner, implementing the application of concepts supporting sustainable development and energy efficiency.
• Conduct conceptual project definition studies and analyse them to establish preliminary designs, including the analysis of alternatives for building systems and components.
• Perform periodic reviews and analyses to assess the achievement of major goals and master plan implementation.
• Support the initial planning and development of new facilities and the renovation of existing facilities.
• Participate in preliminary and critical design reviews and determine, develop and defend project requirements.
• Provide expert advice and state-of-the-art professional assistance and support to senior management.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
• Support other members of the Facilities Department in fulfilling their roles.
• Perform other duties as required by their line manager and/or the Manager, Facilities.

Key skills:

•  Bachelor degree Engineering or Architecture required Master degree preferred
• A minimum of four to five years of experience in an architectural field is required.
• Experience in the Gulf States (Middle East) region an advantage.
• A proven ability to understand and apply complex theoretical considerations and new developments in the technical literature of architecture and related engineering and scientific disciplines is preferred.
• The ability to use sound judgment that is based on varied and responsible experience in the application of standard practices, techniques, and methods in the building design and construction process is an advantage.
• Have, or be able to obtain a valid UAE driver’s license.
