Key Accountabilities
- Prepare/Initiate all due payments via Cheque, Transfer, Online etc. and facilitate further review and signature.
- Reconcile the Statement of Accounts of suppliers and resolve discrepancies on a regular basis.
- Ensure compliance of DOA (Delegation Of Authority) matrix for all financial transactions.
- Prepare bank reconciliations regularly to ensure the balance as per bank and books are correct.
- Act as a primary contact for payment related queries from Internal/External stockholders.
- Maintain Cheque register with accurate data to control and keep track of the transactions.
- Handle all type of banking facilities and maintain proper documentation and registers for LCs, APGs, PWBs etc.
- Prepare supplier ageing & advance reports and follow up on a regular basis to clear the advances.
- Monitor supplier invoices and ensure payments are made within five months from the date of posting, in adherence to the VAT law.
- Perform various month-end, year-end closing activities and report generation.
- Collaborate with internal and external parties wherever necessary on related matters.
- Prepare and submit Cash flow and other required reports for the management’s review from time to time.
- Assist in timely completion of External / Internal audit requirements by preparing specialized financial reports, providing required documentation and resolving discrepancies as required.
- Ensure the safe custody of blank cheques as well as other confidential documents related to finance department.
- Ensure the safe custody of supplier Guarantees, etc. and monitor its expiry against with service/goods receipt.
- Keep abreast with applicable tax laws, financial laws, internal policies and other government regulations .
- Coach and guide Jr. Accountant in day to day accounting activities to meet the department deadlines.
- Recognise opportunities for continuous improvement and provide recommendations to improve and enhance the efficiency of the financial process and procedures.
- Perform other activities as directed by Chief Accountant in accordance with company policy and requirements.
- Planning & Organizing - Proficient in banking and treasury procedures for effective financial organization.
- Analytical Thinking - Understands financial reporting principles and possesses mathematical aptitude for analysis.
- Ability to Work Under Pressure - Capable of performing under pressure with efficiency and composure.
- Communicating and Influencing - Knowledgeable in reconciliation processes, adept at effective communication and influencing stakeholders
Knowledge/Qualification & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Finance.
- Preferred 5 years of similar experience.
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent
- Preferred Certified or partially qualified in any of the professional certification in accountancy (CPA, CA, CMA, ACCA, CIMA etc.)
- Proficiency of MS Excel, Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Knowledge of Reconciliation process.
- Knowledge of Banking & Treasury related procedures
- Understanding of Financial reporting and principles
- Mathematical aptitude.
