Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for Programming Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines maintaining quality and safety standards, and generating manufacturing documentation.
- Executes machining processes by studying work orders, blueprints, 3D models, wireframe models, engineering drawings, material specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.
- Generates NC programs adhering to, and improving on, the internal machining strategy guidelines.
- Designs fixtures and jigs generating their manufacturing information: CAD models, drawings of detailed parts, bill of material, and NC programs.
- Designs machining strategies based on technical targets: cycle time, machining cost, tool utilization, tools standardization.
- Resolves technical problems to maximize process repeatability, and minimize cost of production.
- Prepares/modifies technical drawings, specifications, calculations, visual aids and any other documentation for production instruction or fixture definition.
- Ensures full conformity of the machine parts by analyzing measurement reports.
- Ensures revision and management of information that affects quality and/or schedule.
- Proficient using CAD/CAM software packages to produce 3D models CNC programs
- Ability to read and produce engineering drawings according to different international standards with a sound knowledge of GD&T
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Aerospace, Automotive, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
- AS9100 and ISO quality standard certification desirable
- PMP, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Certification desirable.
Experience
- At least 5 years in the aerospace, automotive, or any other highly regulated industry
- Demonstrated record of accomplishment implementing process improvement to enhance efficiency, eliminate waste and reduce costs
- Experience using CATIA V5 and or/ Siemens NX for both CAD and CAM applications
