ADVANCED CONCEPTS is an entity within EDGE dedicated to the design and deployment of advanced, innovative technologies. ADVANCED CONCEPTS is fast-tracking the development of high-technology autonomous systems, including three Medium Endurance, High Altitude, fixed-wing unmanned aerial systems, a family of precision loitering munitions, a cost- effective family of cruise missiles, and a range of guided artillery munitions.
Core Accountabilities:
• Take the overall technical authority, responsibility and accountability for the technical performance for a product system, or system-element throughout its life cycle. The complexity and scope of the system/system-element is linked to the grade of the position.
• Perform the technical processes such as mission analysis, requirements definition, architectural definition, verification and validation.
• Lead the creation and modification of detailed aircraft and missile designs using advanced CAD software, ensuring precision and compliance with engineering standards.
• Conduct in-depth analyses of aerodynamic performance and flight mechanics, applying computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and other simulation tools to inform design decisions.
• Direct hands-on prototyping activities, applying advanced manufacturing techniques to quickly evolve prototypes from concept to functional systems.

• System Design and Development: Design and implement defense systems, focusing on hardware and software integration. Utilize PX4 and MAVLink protocols to establish robust communication between onboard systems and ground control stations.
• Software Development: Develop and maintain high-performance software applications using C++ for real-time processing. Create user-friendly interfaces with Qt and QML for ground control stations, ensuring efficient monitoring and control of defense system operations.
• Robotics Frameworks: Utilize ROS (Robot Operating System) to develop modular robotic applications, enabling seamless integration of various sensors (e.g., cameras, LiDAR) and components. Implement ROS nodes for sensor data acquisition and processing, facilitating real-time decision-making in flight scenarios.
Qualification / Experience
• Minimum Bachelors Engineering
• Preferred Masters or PhD in Engineering
• Minimum 18 years relevant experience Systems Engineering experience in the development of products in the defense industry
• Proficiency in missile design (flight mechanics, stability, weight and balance, structural design….)
• Proficiency in CAD, FEA and CFD
• System Testing and Validation
• Application of MBSE and/or engineering specialty software
