Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy for various propulsion systems, including Air Breathing Engines, Liquid Engines, Hybrid Rocket Engines, and Solid Rocket Motors, as well as for Energetic Materials like Warheads, Propellants, Explosives, and Safety and Arming Devices (ESAD, SAD).
  • Lead R&D initiatives to innovate and enhance technologies in both propulsion systems and energetic materials, ensuring the company's products remain at the forefront of the industry.
  • Provide expert guidance and oversight across all technical domains, including design, development, testing, and production of propulsion systems and energetic materials.
  • Ensure seamless integration of propulsion and energetic material technologies with broader defense and aerospace systems, optimizing performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations and industry standards, and proactively manage risks associated with advanced propulsion systems and energetic materials.
  • Foster collaboration across engineering teams specializing in different propulsion technologies and energetic materials, promoting a multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving and innovation.
  • Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively across various R&D and production programs, ensuring efficient use of financial and human capital.
  • Support project management teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of projects related to propulsion systems and energetic materials, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Promote continuous learning and technical skill development among engineering teams, focusing on the latest advancements in propulsion and energetic material technologies.
  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry leaders to foster innovation and enhance the company’s technological capabilities.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices, learning from failures, and integrating new technologies and methods into existing processes.

 

Knowledge/Qualification & Experience

  • 25+ years of experience in propulsion systems (Air Breathing Engines, Liquid Engines, Hybrid Rocket Engines, Solid Rocket Motors) and energetic materials (Warheads, Propellants, Explosives, ESAD/SAD), with significant experience in leadership roles. 
  • Proven track record in leading research and development initiatives, particularly in the aerospace and defense sectors.
  • Experience in integrating complex propulsion and energetic material technologies into comprehensive defense or aerospace systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to propulsion systems and energetic materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and external partners.
  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with a strong focus on propulsion systems or energetic materials.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in leadership and advanced engineering disciplines relevant to propulsion and energetic materials.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills in guiding diverse technical teams across multiple disciplines.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Air Breathing Engines, Liquid Engines, Hybrid Rocket Engines, and Solid Rocket Motors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative solutions for complex technical challenges in propulsion and energetic materials.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans that drive technological advancements and business growth.
