Core Accountabilities
- Able to design small ammunition systems from concept through to production under the guidance.
- Conduct detailed ballistics testing to evaluate the effectiveness, accuracy, and performance of ammunition under various environmental conditions according to MIL, NATO and CIP standards.
- Analyze the impact of ammunition design changes on flight dynamics, penetration, and terminal ballistics.
- Perform trajectory modeling and simulation to predict ammunition behavior and optimize design.
- Ensure that ammunition designs comply with relevant industry standards, military specifications (MIL-SPEC), and safety regulations (e.g., ATF, EPA, OSHA).
- Improvises the product specific knowledge;
- Develops and implements detailed work plans for product development and research to fulfill company requirements;
- Provides and implements project plans to meet company objectives for new products;
- Provides advice and recommendation to the management/board of directors about the development of the new products and technologies;
- Works in close collaboration with internal team members and external suppliers to develop concepts and products;
- Supports in developing presentations for new ideas and innovative designs and conducts as required;
- Provides assistance in managing the release of all technical documentation including drawings, design failure mode effects and analysis (DFMEA) and design validation and reporting (DVP&R); work in Solid Works/FEA and PDM softwares.
- Creates 3D model concepts for discussion and approval;
- Creates 2D drawings of approved 3D models for production and manufacturing;
- Works towards ensuring that the document release is according to international standards as established by the organization;
- Maintains high safety standard for safe operation and product designs; and
- Adheres to Engineering Department’s policies, procedures and work processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
- Take responsible approach to health, safety and environmental risks involved in your specific job capacity within the organization.
- Actively participate in EHS initiatives and other safety related teams in the organization.
Experience & Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 4+ years experience in manufacturing, preferably in defense, aerospace, or ammunition industries.
