Job Summary:

The Development Manager shall be responsible for the coordination and execution of Munitions Development projects in the following areas at Halcon:

• Warheads,
• Propulsion,
• Ammunitions
• Propellants & Thermal Insulation and
• Explosives & Pyrotechnics

Key Accountabilities:

• Assume responsibility for the successful execution of allocated Munitions Development projects to specification within budget and schedule
• Follow sound development management procedures
• Follow sound systems engineering practices
• Establish product requirements and generate technical requirement specifications
• Provide inputs to  project plans to the Project Manager for development projects
• Prepare for, and attend formal project reviews
• Provide inputs to monthly progress reports to the Project Manager
• Mentoring and training of colleagues

Experience & Education Qualifications:

• B Eng. degree / National diploma in mechanical / chemical engineering or alike
• At least 5 years’ experience in the development of sub-systems for Propulsion and/or Munitions
• Broad technical experience of Development Projects
• Broad knowledge of acquisition management, systems engineering and management of Development projects
• Technical knowledge of munitions environment
• Knowledge of systems engineering practices
