Job Summary:

 

Define workflows and manage lower level technician duties for the Air Power group. Organize and manage a workshop and other technicians to achieve the objectives of the Air Power Group.

 

Key Accountabilities:

Air Power Systems Development:

  • Manage the engine test facility at Tawazun Industrial park, where turbojet and turbo fan engines will be tested.
  • Provide an in-house project management and systems engineering capability to support the integration of engines into the facility to ensure safe, reliable operation of the engines.
  • Undertake design of customized electrical, mechanical and fuel system interfaces for jet engines and support work throughout the life-cycle of the system under development, for all phases of conceptual design, preliminary design, detail design and development, manufacture, production, end-use support and phase-out/disposal
  • Perform precise engineering calculations using theoretical methods as well as computational simulations

Project Management:

  • Work with suppliers to produce high precision and quality designed components within the schedule of the project.
  • Organization of engineering arrangements to meet the objectives of the department.

Innovation and Technology Advancement:

  • Revise designs based on the latest technology in manufacturing and material science.
  • Optimization of designed parts for manufacturability using innovative approaches to design

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Lead, mentor and coach lower level engineers in related disciplines.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Establish test specifications and procedures to ensure that all design requirements are met

 

 

Experience & Education Qualifications:

  • At least 15 years (NTC5),  13 years. (T3), 11 years. (T4 / B.Tech) or 7 years. (M.Tech) of related experience, preferably, in the aerospace industry
  • At least 10 years of Test and Evaluation experience, in the aerospace or defense industry
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to precision-guided munition air power systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of the required hardware and software tools necessary to implement a propulsion capability
  • Expert knowledge in the broad spectrum of mechanical engineering as related to gas turbine system development and manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Program planning for a multi-year, multi-million dollar defense propulsion project.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to precision-guided munition air power systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of the required hardware and software tools necessary to implement a propulsion capability
  • Expert knowledge in the broad spectrum of mechanical engineering as related to gas turbine system development and manufacturing processes and materials.
