ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role you will be responsible of developing, modelling, analysing, maintaining and optimizing the thermodynamic and aerodynamic performance of new production micro turbojet and turbofan engines. You will work closely with multidisciplinary departments to support from concept, design, development, testing, validation, up to service support. As we continue to expand our air power design and manufacture capabilities, we are seeking for an experienced propulsion performance engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop preliminary engine cycle models and aerothermal methods to support the design, off-design and far off-design performance estimation.
  • Support the development, refinement and maintenance of steady-state and transient engine cycle performance models, and the generation of performance decks.
  • Translate airframe/engine requirements into actionable performance criteria, design constraints, and turbomachinery type selection.
  • Optimize engine performance cycles to balance thrust, SFC, mechanical/thermal limits for key operating points to meet mission-specific requirements.
  • Conduct trade-off performance studies to evaluate impacts from design changes and new component technologies.
  • Collaborate with turbomachinery and combustor design teams to ensure aerothermal requirements are met during component and system-level design.
  • Support engine test preparation by generating performance predictions, assessing operational limits and authoring test schedules.
  • Monitor and support safe & effective engine test execution. Provide engine testing updates and observations to senior leadership & design teams.
  • Analyse engine test data and match it against model data for performance alignment.
