Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and audits of work areas, facilities, and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
  • Analyze HSE data and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance safety performance.
  • Lead the development and delivery of HSE training programs to educate employees on safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and environmental stewardship.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into project planning, design, and execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor and track HSE performance metrics, including leading and lagging indicators, to measure progress towards established goals and targets.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on HSE-related issues, including regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and emergency response planning.
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and community stakeholders to stay abreast of emerging HSE trends and regulatory developments.
  • Support the development and implementation of emergency response and crisis management plans, including conducting drills and exercises to test preparedness and response capabilities.
  • Participate in internal and external HSE audits and assessments, providing documentation and evidence to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain HSE management systems and documentation, including policies, procedures, and work instructions, to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and requirements.
  • Facilitate HSE communication and engagement initiatives to promote a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to site personnel on the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to procure HSE-related products, services, and equipment as needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the overall success of the HSE function and the organization.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain accurate HSE records and documentation.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze HSE data for trends and prepare reports.
  • Training Coordination: Schedule and track HSE training sessions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
  • Emergency Response Planning: Assist in developing and testing emergency response plans.
  • Supplier and Contractor Oversight: Evaluate HSE performance of suppliers and contractors.
  • Hazard Identification: Identify potential hazards and assess risks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in HSE improvement projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Budget Management: Assist in managing the HSE department budget.

 

Knowledge/Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a health, safety, and environment (HSE) role, preferably in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional diploma or Certification in Occupational HSE/Process Safety/ Risk Management ) preferred.
  • OSHAD certification
  • Experience in Fire Fighting (Optional)
