HSE Team Leader

About the Role
Powertech is seeking an experienced HSE Team Leader to drive the implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) systems within an aerospace manufacturing and propulsion environment. This role requires strong expertise in UAE regulatory frameworks (ADOSH), international standards (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001), and the management of high-risk industrial operations.

You will lead a team of HSE professionals, promote a proactive safety culture, and act as the key interface between operations, leadership, and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

HSE Management Systems

• Lead development, implementation, and maintenance of Integrated Management Systems (IMS) aligned with ISO 45001 & ISO 14001
• Develop and manage HSE plans (Emergency Response, Environmental, Waste, Welfare, Transport Safety)
• Ensure full compliance with ADOSH and UAE regulatory requirements

Operational Safety

• Oversee HSE compliance across aerospace manufacturing and hazardous operations
• Manage chemical storage and safety compliance in line with Civil Defence requirements
• Implement permit-to-work systems (confined space, work-at-height, hot work)
• Conduct HAZID assessments for new processes

Risk & Incident Management

• Lead hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA)
• Conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis (RCA)
• Monitor and report HSE KPIs and performance metrics

Audits & Compliance

• Plan and conduct internal/external HSE audits and inspections
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and certification bodies
• Manage compliance documentation and reporting

Training & Leadership

• Deliver HSE training programs (LOTO, confined space, fire safety, etc.)
• Drive a strong safety culture and behavioral safety initiatives
• Lead, mentor, and develop HSE team members

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 10 years of HSE experience, including 5+ years in aerospace, defence, or manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of ADOSH and UAE HSE regulations
• Experience in Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and audits

Certifications (Required):

• NEBOSH International General Certificate (or equivalent)
• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
• ADOSH Practitioner Certification (Grade A or above)

Preferred:

• ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
• Experience in aerospace or defence environments
