External Job Description
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of network hardware, including routers, switches, servers, and telecommunications equipment.
- Provide technical support for network operating systems and software applications, troubleshooting issues related to connectivity, security, and performance.
- Configure, manage, and maintain network security systems including firewalls, End Point Protection system to protect network integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, including network outages, slow performance, and configuration errors.
- Maintain and update network diagrams, technical documentation, and asset management registers, including user account management, equipment, and software distribution.
- Conduct regular network audits and physical inventory of IT assets to ensure accuracy of network and hardware a
- Support network integration, functional testing, and ensure all systems are running optimally across various environments.
- Maintain a clean and organized network infrastructure, ensuring that network equipment and server rooms are safe, secure, and well-maintained.
- Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and security of all company data and documents.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure all network-related policies and procedures are followed, contributing to team objectives and IT strategy.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and operational standards in network and IT systems.
Key skills:
- High school diploma is required, a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience providing IT customer support to computer users in an office environment is required.
- Certifications in any of the following are highly desired; CCNA, Network +
- A proven ability to interact with employees of different levels and different cultures is preferred.
- The ability to work analytically and independently, as well as within a team is preferred.
- The ability to adaptable to a rapidly changing technical environment is an advantage.
An ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required.
