External Job Description

The Industrial Assembler is responsible for the precise and methodical assembly of advanced turbine and propulsion systems, including microjet and turbofan engine components, in accordance with engineering specifications, production schedules, and quality requirements. This role is critical to ensuring that all assembled products meet stringent aerospace and industrial standards for safety, reliability, and performance.

The position requires a high level of manual dexterity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform intricate assembly operations involving delicate and high-precision parts. The assembler will work from technical drawings, work instructions, engineering bills of materials, and standard operating procedures to complete complex mechanical and electronic assemblies. Given the highly sensitive nature of the products, the incumbent must handle components with extreme care to avoid damage and maintain dimensional and functional integrity.

The role also includes performing detailed alignments, calibrations, torque-controlled fastening, fine mechanical adjustments, and functional verifications throughout the assembly process. The Industrial Assembler plays a key role in ensuring tight tolerances are consistently achieved and that the finished assemblies meet design intent and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute assembly operations in line with the approved production schedule and daily manufacturing targets
  • Perform precise mechanical and electronic assembly of turbine and propulsion system components following engineering drawings, technical work instructions, and assembly proceduresConduct fine alignment, fitment, fastening, and adjustment activities to meet defined tolerances and functional specifications
  • Handle sensitive and delicate parts with appropriate care to prevent damage during assembly and movement
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections during and after assembly to ensure compliance with product specifications
  • Implement high-quality assembly practices to maximise product yield and minimise rework or scrap
  • Ensure full compliance with AS9100, ISO standards, and internal quality management procedures
  • Support first-pass yield improvement through disciplined workmanship and proactive issue reporting
  • Collaborate closely with production, quality, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve technical and process issues
  • Record assembly data, inspection results, deviations, and non-conformance reports accurately in production systems
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area in line with health, safety, and lean manufacturing principles
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and lean production initiatives to improve efficiency and product quality
  • Support troubleshooting and rework activities where required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on industry experience in mechanical, electrical, electronic, or industrial assembly
  • Proven experience in industrial, aerospace, manufacturing, or precision assembly environments
  • Hands-on experience in electronic assembly and fine mechanical assembly processes
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards and electronic workmanship requirements
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO quality standards, and controlled manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and engineering documentation
  • Experience working with precision tools, measuring equipment, torque tools, and assembly fixtures
  • Strong awareness of ESD handling and sensitive component protection practices.
