Role Purpose

Execute supplier development and industrialization activities for assigned suppliers and part families supporting POWERTECH turbofan, microjet and piston engine programs.

The role delivers supplier assessments, capability and capacity studies, development actions and on-site technical support with limited supervision while building specialist competence within a core manufacturing commodity.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct supplier process assessments covering manufacturing methods, equipment, tooling, metrology and process controls.
  • Prepare technical assessment reports and supplier development actions.
  • Execute development plans and track actions through closure.
  • Support work instructions, routings, operation sheets, CNC program control and inspection requirements.
  • Perform time studies, cycle-time analysis and equipment-utilization assessments.
  • Support capacity studies, bottleneck analysis and run-at-rate demonstrations.
  • Conduct process capability studies on key characteristics.
  • Support APQP deliverables including process flows, PFMEA and control plans.
  • Review supplier manufacturing documentation for technical completeness.
  • Prepare gate evidence and support FAI/PPAP readiness.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for machining and sheet-metal process issues.
  • Participate in 8D/root cause investigations covering dimensional, process and yield issues.
  • Support tooling, fixturing, work-holding, first-off part reviews and process validation.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain and Product Quality Engineering.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Materials Engineering.
  • 4+ years’ experience in aerospace manufacturing engineering, industrialization, supplier quality or supplier development.
  • Hands-on machining or sheet-metal fabrication experience.
  • Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, AS9102 FAI, PFMEA, control plans and process capability.
  • Competent GD&T and drawing interpretation.
  • Familiarity with aerospace alloys.
  • CAD/CAM knowledge; CNC programming exposure advantageous.
  • Experience with 8D or equivalent structured problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100.
  • Comfortable with regular supplier-site work and travel
