Job Summary:

 

The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, and maintenance of all instrumentation and sensors used to monitor engine performance. This role ensures accurate data collection, troubleshooting of instrumentation issues, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with modern engine instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and control theory.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Instrumentation Installation & Calibration:

  • Install, configure, and calibrate measurement instruments, including sensors, pressure gauges, and temperature probes, for monitoring engine performance.
  • Perform routine calibrations to ensure the accuracy and reliability of all instrumentation, following industry standards.

Troubleshooting & Data Integrity:

  • Diagnose and resolve instrumentation issues, ensuring all sensors and data acquisition systems function correctly before, during, and after tests.

  • Verify compliance with measurement standards and maintain the integrity of test data.

Coordination with Other Teams:

  • Collaborate with the Installation and Fuel System technicians to integrate instrumentation seamlessly.
  • Assist in designing instrumentation plans, including both hardware and software components.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of installations, calibrations, and any adjustments made to instrumentation systems.
  • Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations and industry best practices.

Test Facility Manager Communications:

  • Provide regular updates to the Test Facility Manager regarding the progress of instrumentation installation and calibration.
  • Flag any concerns, issues, or special requirements related to instrumentation.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Diploma or training in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience in installing and calibrating instrumentation for engines.
  • Familiarity with the latest measurement tools and technologies for engine performance monitoring.
  • Experience working in test facilities or industrial environments involving sensors and data acquisition.
