We are looking for an Inventory Manager (Reporting to the Head of WIL). This role will play a central role in maintaining the company’s efficiency, this includes the responsibility in overseeing the company’s stock and ensuring this is managed efficiently, managing stock levels, inventory control and reporting. The main objective is to strike the perfect balance between having enough stock to meet demand without overloading the warehouse or incurring unnecessary costs. This role holds people management responsibilities.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Inventory Control
  1. Maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting regular stock audits, reconciling discrepancies and ensuring proper labelling and storage of inventory
  2. Using AI or Technology to use an inventory management system to reduce errors and improve stock accuracy
  3. Working with Material Planning team to avoid the event of material shortages that affect production
  4. Manage inventory risk and ensure that contingency plans are in place
  5. Optimize warehouse and storage - the Inventory Manager will work with the Warehouse Manager to optimize warehouse and storage systems.

 

  1. Supply Chain Management
  1. Collaborate with the SCM Commodity, Logistics and Material Planning teams to ensure timely delivery of goods, minimise lead times and optimise supply chain processes

 

  1. Forecasting & Planning
  1. Analyse sales data, market trends and historical inventory levels to forecast demand and plan inventory replenishment accordingly
  2. Collaborate with the SCM Commodity team to reorder items before they run out
  3. Ensuring products are sufficiently stocked to meet demand without over buying
  4. Develop and implement processes for inventory tracking and optimization,
    1. Including Just-In-Time or Just-In-Case inventory management principles
    2. Reorder points, min/max levels
    3. Safety stock
    4. First-in-first-out (FIFO)
    5. ABC Analysis
    6. EOQ
    7. VMI at Supply base

 

  1. Reporting & Analysis
  1. Using inventory data to forecast future demand and identify trends
  2. Prepare and present detailed inventory reports to management including stock levels, turnover rates, slow moving obsolete stock, potential inventory issues
  3. Understand and implement the KPIs associated for Inventory Management
  4. Use of MRP to accurately provide and share data with teams, stakeholder and Senior Management

 

  1. Team Leadership
  1. Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
  2. Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
  3. Monitor and ensure that staff under supervision maintain accurate inventory levels to get the right materials at line side at the right time
  4. Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors
  5. Supporting the Head of WIL with SCM or companywide initiatives.

 

Requirements :

 

  • Master’s Degree (Preferred): A Bachelors or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g. CIPS, CPSM / APICS)
  • Minimum: 8+ years of experience in Inventory Material Planning, Scheduling & Production Control
  • Understands SIOP
  • Experience of Managing and leading a small team
  • Aero / Defence exposure and experience would be highly beneficial
  • Strong leadership skills
  • A firm robust knowledge of Inventory Management strategy and implementation
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive change and deliver measurable results.
  • Good demonstration of influencing skills at all levels
  • Robust analytical and numerical skills
  • Good presentation skills and be able to confidently present to Senior Management
  • Experience with Conflict resolution and solution generation
  • Experience with working in Start Up companies
  • Demonstrated Experience with SAP
  • Awareness of Logistics processes
  • Excellent time and organisational management
  • Demonstrated experienced with Microsoft Tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Schedule).
