Our Halcon Drawing Office is seeking a dedicated and skilled Librarian - Mechanical to join our team and contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our engineering department.

 

About the Role:

As a Librarian - Mechanical, you will play a vital role in creating and maintaining a comprehensive CAD library for our Drawing Office and Engineering teams. You will support senior designers and engineers with detailed and assembly drawings, and be responsible for initiating the Material Master Record (MMR) process.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • CAD Library Management: Develop and maintain a mechanical CAD library for Creo and SolidWorks, ensuring that all components are accurately cataloged and easily accessible.
  • Design Support: Assist senior designers and engineers by creating and managing basic and first-line detail and assembly drawings.
  • MMR Process: Initiate and manage the Material Master Record (MMR) process, ensuring accurate registration and tracking of components.
  • Component Assistance: Support the modeling, sourcing, and registration of sub-components, and create drawings from existing CAD layouts to aid senior team members.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Mechanical Knowledge: Solid understanding of mechanical designs, manufacturing drawings, and mechanical data packs, including Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • CAD Proficiency: Experience with relevant CAD software (Creo and SolidWorks) and the ability to use these tools to generate and manage standard components.
  • Technical Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the engineering industry, with a proven ability to handle mechanical components and standards.
  • Qualifications: Relevant mechanical qualification, such as a diploma or technical certificate, and a general knowledge of engineering principles.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to identify and manage mechanical components such as bolts, washers, bearings, and adhesives with precision.
  • Process Improvement: Experience in initiating and managing technical processes like the MMR to streamline operations.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong communication skills to assist and support senior engineers and designers effectively.
