Job Purpose
Support the Mission Engineering and Technical Solutions Team in deploying, maintaining, and defending enterprise systems for Beacon Red and its customers. Leverage your robust IT background to manage diverse technical projects across Beacon Red Data Centres and Cloud environments, while collaborating with colleagues across multiple teams.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the continuous availability of mission-critical IT infrastructure and applications, including both standard and custom-built solutions, to support operational requirements
- Monitor organization systems and applications to guarantee they remain operational and secure
- Process data from various sources to support cyber investigations
- Assist with security assessments, ensuring all systems are patched and compliant
- Analyze internal operational architecture, tools, and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement
- Partner with both the Technical Support team and Development teams to plan, create, and deploy tools that drive operational objectives
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience administering Linux-based service platforms
- Proven understanding of Linux security practices and disaster recovery planning
- Experience with hardware platforms (e.g., VxRail, Nutanix) and VMware vCenter management
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP and network diagnostics
- Experience in application deployment and management (e.g., GitLab, Mattermost)
- Familiarity with security appliances and systems (e.g., firewalls, DLP, endpoint protection)
- Understanding of Change Management and ITIL
- Proficient in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) and automation (e.g., Ansible, Chef)
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, SaltStack)
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Skilled in managing cloud services with hands-on experience deploying Linux servers in environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Skilled in using IaC tools (e.g., Terraform)
- Familiarity with network management tools (e.g., Zabbix) and IT ticketing systems (e.g., Jira Service Desk)
