Job Description
Job Purpose
The Manager, Electronic Engineering is responsible for leading and managing the Electronic Engineering function at Al Tariq. The role ensures the successful delivery of electronic engineering outcomes across development, production, support, and testing activities, while building a high‑performing, compliant, and future‑ready engineering capability aligned to organisational and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and ensure the achievement of electronic engineering targets in line with Al Tariq and Engineering Department goals.
- Manage and continuously improve the electronic engineering function, including processes, performance, capabilities, capacity, safety, quality, and risk management.
- Oversee all electronic and electrical engineering work, including outsourced activities, ensuring work is properly prioritised, estimated, resourced, contracted, executed, and monitored.
- Review and approve engineering outputs to ensure compliance with technical requirements, standards, and regulations.
- Identify, analyse, and resolve complex electronic engineering and integration issues.
- Collaborate closely with project management, systems/design engineering, procurement, contracting, production, maintenance, flight test, system test, quality, safety, and configuration teams to achieve programme objectives.
- Lead and develop the Electronic Engineering Department, including organisational structure, facilities, tools, equipment, workforce planning, competence development, training, performance management, engagement, mentoring, succession planning, leave, and travel.
- Support and contribute to the delivery of broader Engineering Department targets.
- Actively contribute to the strategic management and long‑term planning of Al Tariq.
Requirements
Education
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering.
- Engineering management qualifications or professional development courses are highly advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 20+ years’ experience in electronic engineering, preferably within guided weapon systems development, production, and support environments.
- Proven experience leading, managing, and mentoring engineering teams.
- Extensive experience working within complex, cross‑functional engineering and production organisations.
- Demonstrated involvement across the full engineering lifecycle, including development, manufacturing, configuration management, testing, and support.
