Job Summary:

 

The Materials Engineer shall be responsible for assisting project development teams with materials related advice, guidance, recommendations, development and testing, focusing on composite materials and polymers. It will lead to preparing technical reports with findings and recommendations. It will also include materials related research and development where required, for any / all project teams in Halcon as well as across EDGE group.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

Scope

Participate in the various engineering development teams and provide inputs on the selection of composite and/or polymeric materials, and the manufacturing and processing of such materials.

Advise

Liaise with technical customers / project teams to determine their materials and - testing requirements.

Execute

Optimize existing materials manufacturing processes and technical capabilities through evaluation and recommendations, using sound scientific, mathematical and engineering principles.

Execute

Monitor and advise on quality standards in manufacturing and finishing of parts and components.

Execute

Providing a scope of materials testing services to all companies under the Group.

Manage

Lead / participate in materials related R&D projects as and where required.

Manage

Liaise with Technical teams in order to expand Halcon internal digital materials database.

Execute

Assist with product inspection, development of inspection criteria, and training employees on customer requirements for products.

Support

Ensure that all projects and tasks are documented in accordance with engineering standards.

Execute

Ensure that all projects and tasks are in accordance with procedures for health and safety.

Execute

Compile thorough documents, manuals, materials investigations and technical reports on testing procedures and test results to both internal and external stakeholders

Execute

Consult with third parties like external materials suppliers, materials manufacturing companies, etc. to leverage their specialized skills and partnerships wherever required.

Execute

Contributes to the development of new projects and grants by conducting literature searches and experimental research.

Always, strictly adhering to safety standards and protocols and ensuring a safe working environment
