Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, service and repair a variety of individual, crew-served, and vehicle mounted weapons and weapon systems.
- Ensure that all individual, crew-served, and vehicle mounted weapons and weapon systems maintenance inspections, servicing, rebuilds, overhauls and repairs are accomplished in accordance with all technical manuals, KPIs and OEM specifications.
- Perform quality maintenance repairs as part of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System program.
- Perform individual, crew-served, and vehicle mounted weapons and weapon systems maintenance inspections to determine the extent of repair and spare parts requirements.
- Perform individual, crew-served, and vehicle mounted weapons and weapon systems repairs using special tools.
- Replace individual, crew-served, and vehicle mounted weapons and weapon systems subassemblies and/or components such as hand guards, barrels, upper receiver groups, lower receiver groups, rigger mechanisms, stands, tripods etc.
- Ensure all maintenance order spare parts residue is returned to the Armament Workshop store.
- Perform individual, crew-served, and vehicle mounted weapons and weapon systems spare parts research to ensure that only required spare parts are requisitioned in the appropriate quantities.
- Complete maintenance related documentation such as maintenance tasks accomplished, direct labour hours consumed, vehicle specific information, spare part request forms, etc.
- Comply with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.
- Ensure all issued tools, uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is accounted for, maintained and secured.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
- Support other members of the Armament Workshop in fulfilling their roles.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Manager, Armament Workshop.
Experience and Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience performing scheduled and/or unscheduled maintenance on weapons and/or weapons systems is required.
- Previous experience in weapons system training is an advantage.
- Familiarity with individual, crew-served, and vehicle mounted weapons and weapon systems special tools is preferred.
- Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office software and SAP is preferred.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required.
