Occupational Psychologist / Psychometrician

Core Accountabilities

• Develop rigorous, scalable psychometrics and assessment exercises tailored to client needs
• Evaluate psychometric properties according to Item Response Theory techniques
• Conduct validation of psychometrics according to testing standards
• Create test and assessment manuals
• Analyse existing data sets for insight and opportunities
• Support the development and implementation of data analytics, talent metrics, and related visualization techniques
• Oversee and deliver assessments to meet client and department requirements

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, Psychology
• Registration with British Psychological Society
• Graduate degree in Statistics (desirable)

Minimum Work Experience & Essential Knowledge

• Psychometric administration
• Applied psychological research
• Assessment development
• Interpretation of psychometric results
• Psychological interviewing
• Development and delivery of training material related to psychological concepts

Skills

• Ability to conduct assessments and interpret results
• Ability to conduct job and role analysis
• Experience in interpreting and applying Item Response Theory techniques
• Familiarity with statistical software such as SPSS or R
• Ability to efficiently learn new skills, methods and approaches within psychology
• Proficient in all Microsoft applications
• Strong organizational skills, superior multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail
• Strong written English language skills
• Experience of developing and delivering rigorous assessments in the defence and security industry (desirable)
• Knowledge of Python (desirable)
