Position Summary

The Senior Configuration Officer is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and auditing configuration control across engineering data, product structures, and documentation throughout the product lifecycle. The role requires strong expertise in Teamcenter or Windchill, and ERP integration using SAP.

Key Responsibilities

1. Configuration Management Control

• Establish and enforce configuration management (CM) processes across product lifecycle stages.
• Define and maintain configuration baselines (as-designed, as-built, as-maintained).
• Control part numbering, document identification, and revision schemes.

2. PLM System Administration & Governance 

• Manage product structures (BOM/MBOM), document lifecycles, and workflows in Teamcenter or Windchill.
• Configure and maintain lifecycle states, access controls, and release workflows.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance across PLM systems.

3. ERP Integration (SAP)

• Ensure alignment and synchronization between PLM (Teamcenter/Windchill) and SAP.
• Manage transfer of BOMs, part masters, and change data into ERP.
• Support manufacturing and supply chain with accurate, released configuration data.

4. Change Management

• Administer Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), and Deviations/Waivers.
• Ensure proper impact assessment, approvals, and implementation tracking.
• Maintain complete audit trails and historical records of configuration changes.

5. Standards & Compliance

• Maintain configuration status accounting and reporting.
• Support internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits.
• Operate within export-controlled and/or classified programme environments.

Required Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Configuration Management, or related discipline.
• 8–15 years’ experience in configuration management within a regulated industry.
• Strong hands-on experience with Teamcenter or Windchill PLM systems.
• Experience integrating PLM systems with SAP ERP.
• Working knowledge of BS 8888 and ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 10007).
