We are seeking a skilled Composite Paint Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for thesurface preparation, painting, and finishing of composite components to exacting standards. This role requires high attention to detail, knowledge of paint application techniques, and a solid understanding of composite materials and safety protocols. 

 

Key Responsibilities :

 

• Prepare composite surfaces by sanding, cleaning, masking, and applying primers and sealers.
• Mix and apply paint coatings using spray equipment (HVLP, electrostatic, or airless systems).
• Ensure proper adhesion and curing of coatings in accordance with specifications.
• Inspect finished surfaces for quality and consistency; identify and correct paint defects (e.g., runs, orange peel, fisheyes).
• Maintain and calibrate painting equipment; ensure tools and workspace are clean and functional.
• Read and interpret work orders, paint data sheets, and engineering drawings.
• Record paint types, lot numbers, and job tracking documentation accurately.
• Follow company and industry safety protocols, including PPE use and proper handling of hazardous materials.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, production staff, and quality control teams.
 

 

Education & Experience:

 

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in a composite paint or similar coating/finishing role.
• Knowledge of composite materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, and resin systems.
• Familiarity with painting standards in aerospace, automotive, or marine industries.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Must be able to stand, bend, and lift throughout the shift, and work in a spray booth environment.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with aerospace-grade coatings (e.g., MIL-SPEC or NADCAP environments).
• Certification in paint application or composite repair.
• Familiarity with environmental and OSHA regulations.
