About The Opportunity
We're building a next-generation hybrid multicloud platform spanning Nutanix and Microsoft Azure, including a major transformation and migration from VMware. This is not a traditional infrastructure engineering role. We are looking for someone who is passionate about automation, platform engineering, Infrastructure as Code, and eliminating manual operational processes.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing an automated platform where infrastructure, policies, governance, security controls, monitoring, backup, and operational processes are managed as code. Our goal is to minimise manual intervention, reduce operational overhead, and deliver self-service capabilities to internal consumers through APIs, automation workflows, and platform services.
We want to hear from candidates who have successfully delivered automation at scale, not simply scripted individual tasks. Examples might include building entire environments using Ansible/Terraform, implementing GitOps operating models, creating automated provisioning and lifecycle management platforms, developing event-driven automations, automating compliance and governance controls, orchestrating large-scale cloud or virtualisation migrations, or eliminating significant volumes of operational tickets through automation.
What we're looking for
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible/Terraform essential)
- Experience automating Azure and/or Nutanix environments
- Strong PowerShell and/or Python development skills
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and automated testing
- Experience designing self-service platforms and API-driven provisioning
- Experience implementing event-driven automation across multiple infrastructure domains
- Ability to demonstrate measurable business outcomes from automation initiatives
For this role, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Experience managing large-scale infrastructure environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Proven ability to build automations that replace manual operational processes
- Hands-on experience with event-driven automation and platform engineering practices
- Strong approach to preventing configuration drift and enforcing technical standards
- Delivery of large-scale migration or transformation programmes through automation
- A track record of achieving measurable improvements in efficiency, reliability, or operational cost
If your idea of success is reducing tickets, removing manual processes, and building platforms that engineers consume rather than operate, we'd like to hear from you.
