ABOUT THE ROLE

HALCON is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer – Guidance & Control to provide technical leadership in the development and implementation of advanced guidance and control systems. The role will lead key technical capabilities, mentor engineering teams, support flight testing and verification activities, and drive the investigation and implementation of future technologies within guided weapon systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the development and implementation of Guidance & Control systems, including G&C algorithms, modeling and simulation, tracking systems, estimation and optimization filters.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across different levels, supporting technical decision-making, problem-solving, and engineering best practices.
• Lead system verification and flight-test activities, including SIL/PIL/HIL testing, pre-flight preparation, flight testing, performance verification, and post-flight analysis.
• Establish and advance Guidance & Control capabilities, including engineering tools, laboratories, methodologies, and the investigation of cutting-edge technologies and algorithms.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Embedded Systems Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• 10–15 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably involving guided weapon systems, missile systems, Guidance & Control, or closely related complex systems.
• Strong technical expertise in Guidance & Control systems, with experience in areas such as algorithms, modeling and simulation, tracking, estimation, optimization, and system verification.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering leadership or management experience, with demonstrated ability to technically lead, guide, and mentor engineering teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience across the guided weapon system development lifecycle, including SIL/PIL/HIL testing, mission planning, flight testing, and post-flight analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in establishing new technical capabilities, laboratories, tools, or advanced G&C methodologies, with exposure to emerging technologies and innovative algorithms.
