In this role as Principal Engineer – Network Prototyping, you will design, develop, execute, and demonstrate early product prototypes, based on customer requirements/use cases, and provide support to other team members to ensure compliance to time-frame, quality, and cost targets. 

Key Responsibilities

•    Design, develop, and evaluate early prototypes to meet performance specifications.
•    Work with testing teams to ensure proper testing of the prototypes is undertaken all customer requirements are met.
•    Perform functional and preliminary code-based unit testing and provide feedback for architects 
•    Quick and iterative development of networking functionalities for assessment across different hardware platforms and setups. 
•    Design and develop networking features for variable networking conditions 
•    Architect and implement end-to-end networking solutions
•    Integrate different existing components efficiently
•    Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of full system behavior and to come up with innovative approaches to optimize the system 
•    To be able to mentor senior engineers
•    Setup demos and environments for protocol testing and demos for customers 
•    Produce clear and concise developer notes and actively participate in prototyping activities
•    Work with cross-functional teams and share knowledge with relevant stakeholders
•    Support teams on networking activities for modems and other networking products
•    Analyze and resolve issues related to networking in prototypes.

Education and Minimum Qualification

• Master’s degree/ PhD in Telecommunications, Computer science, Electronics Engineering or equivalent
• 10-15 years of experience in networking, prototyping, and development.

Key Skills

•    Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, Linux networking, C/C++ and Python.
•    Experience with prototyping, simulators and setting up demos.
•    Proficiency in understanding networking concepts, and equipment, such as traffic generators, modems, routers, network analyzers, etc.
•    Fast coding across languages 
•    Experience in presenting demos to customers.
•    Strong analytical and thinking out-of-the-box skills.
•    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
•    Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
•    End-to-end system level reasoning 
•    Mentoring senior engineers
