About the role
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing both local and international purchasing—primarily technical items—while overseeing all related documentation and administrative processes in line with company policies and procedures. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the organization secures high‑quality materials and services efficiently and compliantly. As procurement is central to supporting the UAE’s growing industrial and defense sectors, this position is especially important in strengthening national supply chain resilience and advancing the country’s strategic self‑reliance, making it a valuable career path for UAE Nationals.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, ERP system updates, and maintenance of procurement records in compliance with company and ISO requirements.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers to secure the best value in terms of quality, cost, delivery, service, and commercial terms while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare, review, and finalize procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, agreements, NDAs, and supplier correspondence, ensuring compliance with company policies and acceptable commercial and legal risk.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, and inspection teams to ensure timely procurement, product qualification, pre-dispatch inspections, shipping arrangements, and project delivery requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery and quality issues, manage claims, and establish long-term strategic partnerships.
- Track contract performance, payment schedules, delivery deadlines, and audit documentation while ensuring accurate reporting and effective procurement administration.
- Drive continuous improvement in supply chain and procurement processes, uphold procurement ethics and governance standards, and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements in all procurement and contractor management activities.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration or relevant field.
- Certified Professional Purchasing qualification or training.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement.
- Understanding the confidentiality matters pertaining to Procurement & Supplier Qualifications
