External Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Production Test Engineer to lead the development and improvement of in-line and end-of-line testing across products and production lines.
This hands-on role offers broad ownership and autonomy. You will define test strategies, develop automated solutions, guide technical teams, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Systems, and suppliers to support scalable production.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the production test strategy, driving standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Lead test workstreams, set priorities, make technical decisions, and act as the technical authority.
• Develop functional and end-of-line test equipment, fixtures, plans, and automated sequences.
• Lead the introduction or transfer of test equipment and procedures for new product introduction and production ramp-up.
• Define DAQ strategies and use test and analysis tools to process results, monitor trends, and guide decisions.
• Review procedures, define test limits, and improve coverage, repeatability, fault detection, and isolation.
• Support DFT, DFM, PFMEA, MSA, root-cause analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Provide design feedback to improve manufacturability, testability, quality, and output.
• Prepare equipment specifications in line with UAE, GCC, ECAS, and MoIAT safety requirements.
• Evaluate quotations, support CAPEX, and coordinate suppliers to deliver on time and within budget.
• Lead hardware troubleshooting, reduce line failures, train technicians, and support serial production.
• Represent production testing in reviews, audits, and supplier discussions.
• Mentor engineers and technicians and serve as the production test focal point.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related field; a Master’s is an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of production or R&D testing and product-design experience in high-volume manufacturing or assembly.
• Proven experience leading test projects end to end and acting as a technical authority.
• Experience in aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, or a similar industrial sector.
• Hands-on experience developing functional or end-of-line test equipment.
• Strong knowledge of test coverage, fault isolation, repeatability, PFMEA, Six Sigma, DFM, DFT, and MSA.
• Experience preparing test specifications, plans, budgets, and quotation reviews.
• Knowledge of machine safety and UAE conformity requirements.
• Turbojet or turbofan engine experience is an advantage.
Tools & Competencies
Proficiency in NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, or equivalent platforms is required. DAQ experience with CompactDAQ, PXI, Dewesoft, HBM, dSPACE, or similar is preferred. Python, Minitab, MATLAB, CAD tools, and MS Office experience is advantageous.
You will be analytical, hands-on, structured, and able to lead cross-functional initiatives independently. Strong mentoring, stakeholder management, decision-making, problem-solving, and supplier coordination are essential.
Fluency in English is required. Arabic or Portuguese is an advantage. Travel may be required.
