The Role
The Airframe Systems Project Manager will lead all project activities in project management perspective; responsible for budgeting, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, change & risk management, reporting and delivery of projects in collaboration with all stakeholders focused on airframe systems as hydraulics, actuation systems, landing gear, fuel systems and environmental control system. Acting as the bridge between engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and program management, this role ensures compliance with aerospace standards while driving successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables for airframe systems.
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
- Lead cross-functional teams including design, procurement, finance, legal, production, quality and ILS departments.
- Monitor the project from initiation up to delivery by day-to-day coordination with all the stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with FAA/EASA certification requirements and defense standards (e.g., MIL-STD).
- Support design reviews, testing campaigns, and production readiness.
- Act as primary liaison between engineering teams, suppliers, and executive leadership.
- Develop, issue and manage RFIs, RFPs and contractual agreements with airframe subsystem suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance, risks, and deliverables.
- Report / present project status to Senior Management and Client.
- Manage customer expectations and contractual obligations.
- Apply project management methodologies (PMI, Agile, Earned Value Management).
- Drive continuous improvement in project execution and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 8–12 years of experience in aerospace/defense project management, with direct exposure to airframe systems.
- Demonstrated experience with airframe systems.
- Experience on development programs.
- Proven track record in budget management, scheduling tools (MS Project/Primavera), and risk management.
- PMP or equivalent certification desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for executive and technical audiences.
Technical Tools
- MS Project or Primavera for scheduling and resource planning.
- ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) for project tracking and reporting.
- Risk management platforms for monitoring and mitigation.
- Collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams, or equivalent) for stakeholder communication.
