ABOUT THE ROLE
About POWERTECH
POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.
Role Summary
Ensure products, processes, and services meet defined quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Analyze quality performance data, identify risks, investigate issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive quality excellence throughout the product or service lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
Monitor compliance with internal quality management systems, policies, and procedures.
Ensure adherence to customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in internal, external, and customer audits.
Maintain quality documentation, records, and reports.
- Quality Control & Monitoring
Develop and implement quality control plans and inspection processes.
Monitor product and process quality performance using established metrics.
Review inspection and test results to ensure conformity to specifications.
Escalate quality concerns and support resolution activities.
- Non-Conformance Management
Investigate product, process, or service non-conformities.
Perform root cause analysis using quality tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and Pareto Analysis.
Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
Verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction.
Support Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other quality improvement programs.
Drive initiatives to improve quality performance indicators.
Facilitate lessons learned and best-practice sharing across teams. - Data Analysis & Reporting
Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data and trends.
Develop quality dashboards and management reports.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect rates, customer complaints, and process capability.
Provide recommendations based on data-driven insights.
- Customer Quality Support
Address customer quality concerns and complaints.
Support investigations and corrective actions related to customer issues.
Participate in customer meetings and quality reviews where required.
Ensure customer expectations are understood and incorporated into quality processes.
- Supplier Quality Management
Support supplier qualification and performance evaluation activities.
Monitor supplier quality performance and manage supplier-related corrective actions.
Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Professional certification is desirable:
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and quality reporting tools.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and problem-solving techniques.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
3 to 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control roles.
Experience working within a structured Quality Management System.
Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Experience in quality audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and drive quality improvements.
