Position Background:

Highly qualified Quality Engineer with a specialized focus on industrializing aeronautical products. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, industry knowledge, necessary to drive quality initiatives and ensure the successful introduction of new products into productionas well as follow up of the quality performance of the product during the serial production. The candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.

 

Qualification & Experience:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Quality Engineering or a relevant discipline is preferred.

 

Industry Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in quality engineering roles within the aerospace or aeronautical industry, with a focus on product industrialization and new product introductions. Direct experience in quality assurance processes for aeronautical products is essential.

 

Technical Capabilities:

  • Quality Management Systems: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS), including AS9100, ISO 9001, and regulations. Certification as a Quality Engineer (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is highly desirable.

  • Quality Tools and Methodologies: Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Design of Experiments (DOE).

  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Proven track record in leading quality assurance activities during the introduction of new products into production. Experience in developing Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), defining Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters, and establishing quality inspection criteria for NPI projects.

 

Experience:

  • Quality Assurance Plan (QAP): Develop and maintain the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) for each new product introduction, outlining quality objectives, inspection criteria, and acceptance criteria in alignment with Design & customer requirements and industry standards.

 

  • Critical to Quality (CTQ) Definition: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to define Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters for each component and assembly, ensuring that quality characteristics critical to product performance and customer satisfaction are identified and addressed.

 

  • Quality Inspection Planning: Lead the development of quality inspection plans for production processes during the introduction of new products, specifying inspection methods, sampling plans, and acceptance criteria to ensure product conformance and reliability.

 

  • Process Validation: Oversee the validation of manufacturing processes for new product introductions, conducting process capability studies and verifying process performance to ensure consistency and compliance with quality requirements.

 

  • First Article Inspection (FAI): Coordinate and oversee First Article Inspection (FAI) activities, ensuring that initial production samples meet all specified requirements and customer expectations before full production begins.

 

  • Quality Control Documentation: Generate and maintain documentation related to quality control activities during new product introductions, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action plans, to facilitate traceability and compliance with regulatory standards.

 

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement efforts related to quality processes, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency enhancement in production processes and quality control procedures.

 

  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to production personnel on new product quality requirements, inspection techniques, and quality control procedures to ensure understanding and adherence to established quality standards
