Range Conducting Officer – Emirati Talent

The Range Conducting Officer (RCO) is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and safe execution of Air, Land, and Maritime tests within the Range environment. The RCO ensures that activities are carried out in line with approved test plans, associated risk assessments, and relevant safety regulations.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Conduct tests in strict compliance with approved test plans and associated risk assessments.
  • Assist in test planning, coordinating range requirements and support functions.
  • Ensure appropriate test teams are assigned and adequately briefed.
  • Collaborate with specialists to prepare suitable and sufficient risk assessments.
  • Deliver pre-test and daily safety briefings to participants and contractors.
  • Control access to the range and manage contractor presence during tests.
  • Deconflict flight and test plans with other active RCOs.
  • Ensure correct test setup, safety trace implementation, and closure of test areas.
  • Oversee remediation of the test site in line with test plan requirements.
  • Record and report all incidents and accidents in accordance with Remaya XRange policies and SOPs.
  • Prepare and submit accurate Test Reports following completion of activities

 

Experience & Qualifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences, Defence Studies, or equivalent technical/military qualification.
  • Formal military training in weapons, munitions, or range safety (preferred).
  • Understanding of health, safety, and risk assessment processes.
  • Familiarity with air safety protocols and airframe assurance.
  • Awareness of air-launched and dropped munitions.
  • Experience handling or overseeing large calibre guns and firearms.
  • Knowledge of air, land, sea, and air defence systems.Basic understanding of military operations across land, sea, and air domains.
  • Strong situational awareness and ability to make safety-critical decisions.
  • Effective communication and briefing skills.
  • Ability to coordinate across multi-domain test environments.
  • Diligent in documentation, reporting, and compliance.
