MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process the AL TAIF monthly payroll.
• Check the accuracy of timesheets (maintain soft copies) entered for monthly payroll processing and calculates deductions from employees pay.
• Prepare a summary statement of pay at month end for approval, with comparisons for each employee from the current master file and previous pay file.
• Prepare employee wire transfer bank letters for approval and submit them to the bank.
• Create new employees in the payroll system and verify.
• Update employee pay changes and allowances in the employee master files.
• Prepare the summary of pension fund contributions and submit approved forms to the bank.
• Prepare labor timing and End of Service Gratuity (EOSG) accruals at month end and reconcile leave advance payments.
• Process leave pay advances and update the associated tracking register.
• Review all documents and forms to calculate employee final settlements.
• Coordinate the distribution of pay statements.
• Coordinate the filing of all historical payroll data (hard and soft copies).
• Act as the main point of contact for AL TAIF employee pay related issues.
• Perform quality work as part of the ISO 9001 program.
• Comply with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.
• Ensure all property is maintained in a serviceable condition, routinely inventoried and safeguarded.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
• Support other members of Corporate HR in fulfilling their roles.
• Perform other duties as required by the Director, Human Resources.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required. An accounting certificate from an accredited institution may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• A minimum of four to five years of experience supervising a team of general accountants is preferred.
• A minimum of three years of experience in direct payroll processing on automated accounting systems is required.
• Strong accounting and mathematical analysis skills are required.
• Familiarity with common accounting software, SAP, bookkeeping, spreadsheets and databases is preferred.
• Proven accounting knowledge with an emphasis on payroll, and time and labor.
• Excellent organizational and strong interpersonal skills are an advantage.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task is preferred.
• Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office and HR software is preferred.
• The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required.
• Have, or be able to obtain a valid UAE driver’s license.
