Senior Aerodynamics Engineer

We design, manufacture, assemble and integrate components for gravity-release guided systems, missiles and loitering munitions.

Role Purpose:

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Support in building the aerodynamics capability at Halcon by driving multiple aerodynamics projects ensuring to meet project deliverables within budget, time and expected outputs.
• Manage the refining of existing configurations, analysing missile aerodynamics performance and performing deep dives into CFD analysis and wind tunnel test results.
• Collaborate effectively in product development design reviews and understanding of missile or aircraft developing process.
• Perform complex geometry and develop CFD workflows using advanced simulation techniques.
• Manage HPC resources, and streamline inter-software processes with scripting and automation.
• Implement methods and technology for aerodynamics configuration sizing using physics based analytical methods, semi-empirical methods and experimental methods.
• Collaborate with other engineering groups on preliminary design analysis as well as production related problems in later stages of project life span.
• Contribute to the development of aerodynamics database using analytical, numerical, ground, and flight test data.
• Contribute in building aerodynamic modelling capabilities and perform the analysis of optimum algorithm for data representation and usage.
•  Maintain the optimum performance of an aerodynamics engineering system or design.
• Maintain and complete user requirement specifications in terms of desired stability, controllability and manoeuvrability of chosen optimum design.
• Take an active role in the weapon wind tunnel preparation, testing and data reduction.
• Support in the continuous improvement of aerodynamics processes and techniques to consistently improve the quality of reporting, delivery, resource optimization and cost reduction
• Stay abreast of the technological advancements in the aerodynamics field.
• Supervise, coach, train and develop junior engineers in aerodynamics technology, simulations, models, tool and analysis and motivate them to deliver high level of performance.   

Main Requirements:

• 8 years of experience in missile aerodynamics.

As an Ideal Candidate we expect you to have:

• Fundamental understanding of advanced fluid dynamics.
• Working knowledge of commercial CFD software.
• Missile aerodynamics analysis.
