Top Technical Requirements:
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and optimization of advanced control systems for small and medium size gimbal stabilization, ensuring robust performance in all operating conditions.
- Demonstrate expertise in missile homing algorithms and gimbal stabilization and tracking loop implementation.
- Utilize expert knowledge in electric drives to seamlessly incorporate them into gimbal control systems, maximizing efficiency and responsiveness.
- Engage with other engineering teams to ensure holistic integration of gimbal systems with broader UAV platforms.
- Conduct in-depth system analyses using simulations, lab tests, and field trials to evaluate and enhance gimbal performance.
- Develop detailed mathematical models of the gimbal systems and perform parameter identification to simulate and predict system behavior under different scenarios.
- Expertly integrate and calibrate BLDC, PMSM, and brushed DC motor drives into the gimbal control systems to achieve optimal performance and responsiveness.
- Engage in continuous research to explore and apply state-of-the-art tracking methodologies to unmanned systems.
- Oversee the development of robust and efficient embedded software solutions for gimbal control, ensuring flawless real-time operation.
- Contribute to the creation of technical reports and project documentation
- Mentorship and training of junior technical personnel.
- Work closely with the embedded software team to develop sophisticated control software, ensuring modularity, scalability, and ease of maintenance.
- Support the hardware team in evaluating, selecting, and integrating the most suitable IMUs and encoders tailored for gimbal stabilization applications.
Knowledge/Qualification & Experience
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in control systems engineering with a focus on gimbal stabilization, electric drives, and embedded software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UAV dynamics, system integration, and modern control methodologies.
- Master’s, or PhD in electrical engineering, control systems, or a relevant field.
- Expert knowledge of PID controllers, state-space, and modern control algorithms, with experience in applying these to gimbal stabilization systems.
- Proficiency in the design, testing, and integration of electric drives, including brushless DC motors, servos, and associated control electronics.
- Proficiency in using tools like MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulating control systems, with the ability to translate simulation results into practical implementations.
