ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Senior RF Engineer to lead the design, integration, testing and optimization of advanced RF communication systems supporting critical C4ISR, border security projects.

This role will involve working across secure communications, surveillance, radar, tactical radio, microwave, SATCOM and LTE/5G technologies. You will play a key role in developing RF architectures, optimizing network coverage, conducting spectrum analysis and ensuring reliable communications across challenging operational environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop and review RF network architectures for radar, surveillance, tactical communications, microwave, SATCOM, LTE/5G and sensor systems.

• Perform RF link budget calculations, frequency planning, spectrum analysis and propagation modelling.

• Conduct site surveys, antenna placement studies, coverage assessments and field measurements.

• Integrate RF communication systems with C4ISR command-and-control and other mission-critical platforms.

• Test, troubleshoot and optimize RF equipment, antennas, radios, microwave links and SDR systems.

• Identify and mitigate interference issues to improve network coverage, reliability and performance.

• Support RF system deployment, commissioning, field validation and acceptance testing.

• Contribute to digital twin integration through RF simulation, coverage prediction and propagation modelling.

• Prepare technical documentation, including RF design reports, frequency plans, link budgets and test reports.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant RF Engineering experience.

• Strong experience in RF design, frequency planning, link budget analysis, propagation modelling and RF optimization.

• Hands-on exposure to radios, antennas, microwave links, SDR, SATCOM, LTE/5G or tactical communication systems.

• Experience in RF field testing, troubleshooting, site surveys and coverage assessments.

• Good understanding of spectrum management, interference analysis and mitigation.

• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in Defence, Military Communications, C4ISR, Border Security, Surveillance or Tactical Communication projects.

• Experience with RF design and simulation tools such as Pathloss, HFSS, ATDI ICS Telecom, ATDI HTZ, MATLAB or similar platforms.

• Exposure to radar systems, sensor communication networks and secure communication environments.

• Experience integrating RF systems with command-and-control platforms and mission-critical systems.

• Professional Engineer (PE) licence or relevant RF, telecommunications or wireless communication certifications.#beaconred
