Job purpose

KATIM is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Support System Engineer with expertise in Integration, Testing, Configuration to join our team working on an innovative program. The successful candidate will be joining the integration team for complex systems and subsystems designed to enhance the capabilities of dismounted soldiers in tactical environments. 

Key responsibilities:

System Integration 

• Provision and stabilize integration/test Linux‐container environments via systemd, systemd-nspawn, LXC or namespaces + cgroups; validate configurations and detect drift before each integration wave. 
• Interface with Android devices (via adb); capture and analyze device logs; verify endpoint behavior for integration and demo preparation.

Testing & Validation 

• Execute templated integration tests (click/observe/log results), record pass/fail and escalate anomalies. 
• Capture and triage issues: produce concise, reproducible bug reports including environment snapshot (container config, service statuses, device state), exact steps, logs, and expected vs actual behavior.

Issue Tracking

• Maintain configuration control and issue logs for all system components; ensure timely resolution and verification of fixes.
• Use CM and issue-tracking tools to enforce document control, change‐management processes, and traceability.  

Documentation and reporting 

• Collect, normalize, and package Linux-side and Android logs for downstream analysis or demo evidence.
• Support baseline & release snapshots: assemble ILS version bundles, snapshot configurations, and label deployments for full traceability.  

Development 

• Light automation: write or refine Bash/Python scripts for environment validation, log gathering, evidence packaging and health checks—even offline

Education and Minimum work experience 

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Project Management
• Certification in Project Management 
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in system engineering, specifically with integration, testing, and configuration management.
• Experience in Linux RTOS embedded Systems, wireless communications systems integration, and Command and Control applications.

Skills and Certifications 

• Experience with defence systems, field testing,defense technology.
• Knowledge of automation tools for testing and configuration.
• Scripting (Bash/Python) for environment validation, log gathering and packaging
