Job Summary
The Senior HSE Officer at LAHAB is responsible for efficiently implementing Occupational Safety, Health and Environment plans to ensure compliance with the organization's policies, procedures and governmental requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies, procedures and regulations.
- Document, investigate and follow up on accidents, incidents and identified hazards, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Conduct and review risk assessments, inspections, audits and safety checks, including fire and first-aid equipment.
- Support OSHE requirements by circulating safety materials, maintaining accurate training records and ensuring SOP responsibilities are fulfilled.
- Participate in workplace inspections with internal or external safety bodies and assist in resolving noted deficiencies.
- Contribute to incident investigations and preparation of related reports or evidence when required.
- Assist in developing and delivering HSE training programs and awareness initiatives.
- Provide documentation, data analysis and coordination support for functional HSE projects.
- Prepare regular reports and keep the Department Head informed of safety activities and issues.
- Implement OSHEMS initiatives, monitor performance, and ensure effective communication between management and the OSH department.
Experience & Education Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor degree
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in health, safety and environment, managing HSE standards and measures
- ADOSH Occupational Safety and Health Diploma OR NEBOSH General Certificate OR NEBOSH International Diploma
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of conducting incident/accident investigations
- Computer literacy
- English language skills (oral and written)
