Job Responsibility:

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Training

• BSc degree in IT field.
• An understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures within the operating market.
• Previous relevant working experience of minimum of 2-3 years.
• IT professional certifications is preferred.

Job Responsibilities

• Administer LAN and WAN, network segments, Internet, and intranet as necessary, utilizing TCP/IP networking protocol and Windows-based operating system.
• Evaluate and/or recommend purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software.
• Investigate problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions.
• Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, Windows networks, servers, Ethernet networks, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems
• Add or upgrade and configure modems, disk drives, printers, and related equipment.
• Perform and/or oversee software and application development, installation, and upgrades.
• Maintain site licenses for department/organization.
• Monitor networks and systems performance.
• Implement network security, applying encryption technologies to network applications, managing host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans, file system integrity, and adding and deleting users as per EDGE Information Security policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
• Establish and maintain user e-mail accounts.
• Develop and conduct various minor training and instruction for system users on operating systems, and other applications; assist users in maximizing use of networks and computing systems.
• Anticipate communication and networking problems and implement preventive measures.
• Establish and perform maintenance programs following company and industry best practices and standards.
• Ensure timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.
• Investigate, recommend and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize network availability.
• Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
• Maintain highest levels of network and infrastructure security by following EDGE Information Security policies and procedures.
• Liaise with external support providers, as necessary, to carry out assigned jobs.
• Manages the data center and computer host systems including active and passive components.
• Maintain an inventory of all the hardware and software items and maintenance records.
• Maintain company’s IP telephony network and system.
• Document network problems and resolutions for future reference. Maintain library of information.
