The Senior CNC Manufacturing Engineer leads CNC programming, machining process development, nesting strategy, and composite ply manufacturing optimization for high precision composite components. 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs for 3‑axis, 4‑axis, and 5‑axis machining centers used in composite‑component manufacturing.
• Lead nesting strategies for composite materials to maximize material utilization, reduce scrap, and support efficient kitting.
• Create, review, and optimize composite ply definitions, laminate schedules, and ply‑book documentation.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering to interpret CAD models, ply books, engineering drawings, and GD&T for composite structures.
• Troubleshoot CNC machining, nesting, and ply‑projection issues, driving root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Mentor CNC programmers and composite‑layup technicians on best practices, tooling, nesting, and projection workflows.
• Implement LEAN, 5S, and continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance composite‑manufacturing efficiency.
• Drive process improvements including cycle‑time reduction, tooling optimization, and material‑yield improvement for composite operations.

Experience & Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
• 7–12 years of experience in CNC programming, machining, or manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on composite manufacturing.
• Proven expertise in multi‑axis CNC programming and CAM systems for composite machining.
• Hands‑on experience with composite nesting software (e.g., TruNest, JETCAM, SigmaNEST Composite, or equivalent).
