ABOUT THE ROLE
About POWERTECH
POWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.
Role Purpose
The Senior Production Assembler is responsible for carrying out complex mechanical assembly activities within the Final Assembly Line (FAL) for propulsion systems, aerospace assemblies, and related sub-systems.
The role supports high-quality production execution, ensures adherence to engineering drawings and manufacturing procedures, and provides technical guidance to junior assemblers during assembly, integration, and testing activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assembly Operations
- Perform complex mechanical assembly and integration activities for engines, propulsion systems, and aerospace components
- Interpret and work from:
- Engineering drawings
- Assembly procedures
- BOMs and technical documentation
- Assemble precision mechanical parts, structures, piping, brackets, and subassemblies
- Ensure all assemblies are completed according to quality and safety standards
- Support fit-up, alignment, torqueing, and dimensional verification activities
Production & Manufacturing Support
- Support Final Assembly Line production targets and delivery schedules
- Identify assembly issues and escalate technical concerns to supervisors or manufacturing engineering
- Assist in troubleshooting assembly non-conformities and rework activities
- Support implementation of process improvements and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Ensure correct handling and traceability of parts, tools, and consumables
Tooling & Equipment
- Use assembly tools and equipment safely and correctly, including:
- Torque tools
- Pneumatic tools
- Measuring instruments
- Lifting equipment
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated as required
- Support preparation and setup of assembly stations and tooling
Quality & Compliance
- Follow approved work instructions, SOPs, and quality procedures
- Complete production and assembly records accurately
- Support inspection and quality verification activities
- Maintain clean and organized workstations in accordance with 5S principles
- Ensure compliance with:
- HSE procedures
- Aerospace manufacturing standards
- Company policies
Team Support & Leadership
- Provide guidance and on-job support to junior assemblers and technicians
- Assist supervisors in coordinating daily assembly activities
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and a strong quality culture within the FAL team
- Support training and knowledge sharing activities
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Technical Certification in:

- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Technology
- Aerospace Manufacturing
- Or related technical discipline
- Minimum 5–8 years of assembly experience in:
- Experience in propulsion systems, engines, rotating equipment, or precision assemblies is highly preferred
- Experience working in Final Assembly Line environments preferred
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong mechanical assembly and fitting skills
- Ability to read engineering drawings and assembly instructions
- Familiarity with torque tightening and precision measurements
- Understanding of:
- Mechanical tolerances
- Assembly sequences
- Quality inspection practices
- Basic SAP / MES / ERP knowledge preferred
- Experience with aerospace documentation and traceability standards is an advantage
