ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer – AS9100 & Nadcap is responsible for leading the planning, development, execution, implementation, certification, and continual improvement of HALCON's Aerospace Quality Management System (AS9100) and Nadcap accreditation programs. The role ensures full compliance with aerospace industry standards, customer-specific requirements, and regulatory obligations while establishing robust quality systems and sustainable business processes. The position will drive cross-functional implementation activities, develop certification-ready documentation, coordinate internal and external audits, support successful AS9100 certification and Nadcap accreditation, and build internal organizational capability through structured knowledge transfer and mentoring.

The role is instrumental in supporting HALCON's strategic objective of becoming a globally recognized aerospace and defence manufacturer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead implementation, certification, maintenance, and continual improvement of the AS9100 QMS, ensuring compliance with AS9100 Rev D, ISO 9001, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct gap assessments, define implementation roadmaps, and maintain quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, and controlled documentation.
  • Lead Nadcap accreditation projects, including checklist interpretation, process controls, self-assessments, PRI audits, and closure of findings.
  • Standardize and optimize quality processes, including CAPA, risk management, document control, configuration management, supplier quality, and internal audit systems.
  • Plan and conduct internal, supplier, customer, certification, and Nadcap audits; drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continual improvement initiatives.
  • Manage certification programs, project plans, milestones, risks, and cross-functional implementation activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality.
  • Deliver AS9100 and Nadcap training, mentor quality teams and process owners, and develop implementation guides to strengthen internal capability.
  • Serve as the primary quality focal point for certification bodies, PRI auditors, customers, suppliers, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Represent the organization during audits, customer reviews, and quality assessments.
  • Drive operational excellence using Lean, Six Sigma, APQP, FMEA, SPC, Risk-Based Thinking, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
  • Support quality digitalization initiatives through SAP QM and related quality management systems to enhance efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Materials Engineering
  • 10 years of Quality Assurance experience in the aerospace, defence, aviation, or high-precision manufacturing industry
  • QMS Certification in Quality, auditing qualifications: AS9100 Lead Auditor
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience implementing and maintaining AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Nadcap accreditation for one or more aerospace special process commodities.
  • Proven experience leading AS9100 certification projects, including gap assessments, documentation development, implementation, certification audits, and surveillance audits.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, and implementing Quality Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Procedures, Work Instructions, Control Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and process documentation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or Business Administration.
